DO YOU WANT TO BE A REFEREE?
The upcoming schedule is as follows for Entry Level Referee Trainings taking place in District 2 but more sites could be added:
February 22 (Lexington) March 7 (Lexington)
March 14 (Lexington) March 28 (Prestonsburg)
Please register for all classes in advance and allow a 10 day period for Background Checks to clear. Keep in mind that there is online course work that will take 2-4 hours to complete that must be done in advance. The day of the class is an on-field experience that lasts 4 hours and gives each referee practical training with the flag and a whistle to better prepare them to be a referee.

For any questions, please contact the State Referee Administrator, Chad Collins at: email@example.com.
We get a lot of questions about how the age groups are determined. Simply put, we are following the mandates from US Youth Soccer. Check out the document linked below to see how we determine which age group a child belongs in. Please note that AIYSA currently only has enough players for even-year teams; this means that the kids that would be on an odd-year team automatically play up. For example, if your child falls in the U7 age group, he or she will play on a U8 team for AIYSA.
Please feel free to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have further questions regarding age and team placement.
Anderson Independent Youth Soccer Association was chartered in 1981 to provide opportunities to the youth of our county to learn about and participate in soccer activities. We have since grown to a wonderful community of parents, players, coaches and volunteers.
We would not be able to survive without the dedicated efforts and energies of our volunteers. The AIYSA Board is made up of those devoted volunteers. Our coaches are also volunteers. We also have several coaches and parents who lend a hand when needed for things like field striping. If you would like to be more involved and are interested in learning more about these opportunities, please contact a board member.
AIYSA also develops young people who wish to become referees. We offer an entery-level certification clinic at the end of the summer every year. Many of our older players attend and are then put to work! We have some excellent seasoned referees who have volunteered to help the younger kids improve to become the best they can be. This is a great place to start and can lead to a lucrative part time job. Once again if this is something you or your child would be interested in, contact the board.
