DO YOU WANT TO BE A REFEREE?

The Fall Soccer Season is upon us and WE NEED YOU to become a referee!

To help facilitate this, we have published the initial schedule of referee courses through mid-September but would love the demand to add more. We will continue to offer the course entirely online (including a Zoom Learning Session) through September but may move the Zoom Session to in-person as the circumstances allow.   Do not miss this limited opportunity and flexibility to take this course entirely online.

Take a look here for the current schedule Entry-Level Referee Course Schedule that includes August 15, 22, 29, as well as September 19. The classes are set for Sunday evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in an attempt to avoid conflicts with high school and club games that start this weekend.

Being a referee is among the best part-time job anyone can have as you essentially set your hours and can easily make in excess of $20/hr. Please consider signing up today...

Details on how to sign up can be found at www.youtube.com/watch?v=C36tX3xyggs&t. In addition to the course fee of $65.00, there is a $30 background check for anyone over the age of 18.

Please direct any questions on this or any referee matter to Chad Collins at collins1080@yahoo.com or 859-576-8968.

Curious about your child's age group?

We get a lot of questions about how the age groups are determined.  Simply put, we are following the mandates from US Youth Soccer.  Please note that AIYSA currently only has enough players for even-year teams; this means that the kids that would be on an odd-year team automatically play up.  For example, if your child falls in the U7 age group, he or she will play on a U8 team for AIYSA.

Please feel free to contact us at andersonyouthsoccer@gmail.com  if you have further questions regarding age and team placement.

Who We Are

Anderson Independent Youth Soccer Association was chartered in 1981 to provide opportunities to the youth of our county to learn about and participate in soccer activities. We have since grown to a wonderful community of parents, players, coaches and volunteers.

Volunteers
We would not be able to survive without the dedicated efforts and energies of our volunteers. The AIYSA Board is made up of those devoted volunteers. Our coaches are also volunteers. We also have several coaches and parents who lend a hand when needed for things like field striping. If you would like to be more involved and are interested in learning more about these opportunities, please contact a board member.

Referees
AIYSA also develops young people who wish to become referees. We offer an entery-level certification clinic at the end of the summer every year. Many of our older players attend and are then put to work! We have some excellent seasoned referees who have volunteered to help the younger kids improve to become the best they can be. This is a great place to start and can lead to a lucrative part time job. Once again if this is something you or your child would be interested in, contact the board.
